PRODUCT

On our Tamara Plantation, 70km south east of Alice Springs, we grow the following 9 varieties of Dates.



MEDJOOL

• large, moist, soft, with rich flavour
• the premium and most popular variety
• can be used in most recipes
• 2 or 3 Dates accompanying a cup of coffee is a traditional delicacy in the Middle East

BARHEE

• soft, round, with very sweet caramel flavour
• also called Honey Date
• excellent in desserts, especially with ice cream



HALAWI

• soft, medium size, pale colour, with subtle flavour
• good on its own and in desserts & salads



KHADRAWI

• soft, medium size, with rich distinctive flavour
• good for most recipes including sticky date pudding
• ideal for adding to bread and cakes



BOU STRAMI

• soft, small, black, with fruity flavour
• good in salads and cooked desserts



BOU FERGUS

• medium size, soft, with mild flavour
• ideal for adding to bread and cakes



BOU SKRY

• soft, small, brown/green, with very distinctive flavour
• tends to crystaline sugars when stored for long periods
• great in desserts and on their own



THORY

• dry, beige, firm texture, with nutty flavour
• good as a snack
• great source of energy for bushwalking/ camping etc.



ZAHIDI

• dry, yellow, great flavour, with chewy texture
• good as a snack
• great source of energy for bushwalking/ camping etc.
